Amaryllis seven flowers!

Amaryllis seven flowers! (Hippeastrum papilio (Butterfly amaryllis))

Seven huge blooms packed on this san remo. Almost a meter tall, And not just size, they are scented like a bowl of fruit loops! More like verbena than anything I've ever smelled. So Wonderful!

Thanks for all the comments. I had missed them somehow...

San Remo is the name of the variety, Hywel. :-)

FC, this is my first year with this one, Big beautiful blooming and 3 feet in height! Made the others look like dwarves! I'll be carefully keeping it through summer for another season. :-)

Mine grew very big as well GT, and it was the first one I ever grew. I'm not sure what to do with it now, though. I've been keeping the soil moist, and I still have a few leaves left...but how do I get it to grow again next year. Your pictures are lovely.

The leaves should continue into summer PG. Give it light and water and fertilize it now and then to feed the bulb, its building next years flower right now. Should die back in early autumn, you can chop off at the bulb and let sleep until a new flower comes popping up midwinter. If you pull it out of the soil and store somewhere cool, you can choose when you want it to start up more easily. Hope that helps. I have long 2ft leaves on mine in full light.

ok, I'm going to try it. I only have one leaf left, the others withered up, though I watered it pretty good. I will follow your instructions and hopefully I can get it to bloom again! Thanks very much!
