Snow came, went, then returned

Snow came, went, then returned

Last night the snow had gone and I was all set to work outside today but when I stepped out this morning it was back again with a vengeance (06/02/09). This time it's more serious with several trees damaged with snow weight. My lovely collection of Pittosporums looks in trouble as branches 'open outwards' under the weight they don't get in South Africa and Australasia.

It's been a couple of weeks since this shot, some evergreen branches did break under the excessive weight before I could relieve them and they've all been cleared. Each day now I'm being 'reunited' with old friends as the weeding gets done and there is so much more waiting just below the surface as if they're poised while summoning up the courage to break through! Meantime, I've been unable to resist buying new plants "to fill-in any holes that may appear", though I haven't seen any "holes"! But isn't it fun just the same?
