I was a 'beginner gardener' when I designed and built my own garden from a derelict Victorian walled garden overrun with brambles and ivy. It was a 'find' that nobody wanted. Within 6 months it opened to the public for the first time and eventually contained around 3000 different varieties including over 60 hostas, 70 Dahlias, 120 clematis and 10 Bougainvilleas. With plants like these it was most definitely a garden for the summer! In a part of the country (the South West) that was famed for its spring gardens and, as such the garden proved very popular!

I've since sold the gardens and moved to Israel for reasons explained in my blog (see Muddywellies is Back!)
I still own and run my gardening website. Living in Israel will undoubtedly broaden my gardening experience and skills which I am happy to pass on. I'm also just as keen to learn from your experiences so keep in touch!
