American Robin

American robins (Turdus migratorius) are much larger than the robins in Europe (Erithacus rubecula). Most migrate south in the winter, but we had one in the garden last week scrubbing about under the pussy willow for grubs and berries. If they find a feeder they like, they will stay. Lovely pic Elke - none too clever with latin names for plants but the latin name for your Robin suggests hes more closely related to our Thrush (and Blackbird ) family.

Yes, you're right Bonkersbon - it belongs to the thrush family. Same shape, size (of a large thrush), just different in colouring. This link is probably better for info than I am:
