I was going to catch up with all your photos before I went to work, but you seem to have added more so we'll see how that goes!
I like wood too, collect interesting shapes to put around the garden. This piece is fascinating.

Lovely interesting photo. I bet there are a few insects overwintering in there. I put peices of log in the garden but they're much more interesting when they start to rot like this, aren't they.

I'm seeing the colours in the wood....so subtle but so beautiful...there is a pink algae and a green algae at work...and combined with the creamy white of the dead wood they produce perfect pastel colours... good eye, yellowleaf!
