Is your greenhouse heated Maureen ?
15 Feb, 2009
Yes it is Hywel, and all because of my frangipani....much to hubby's disgust. This year it has cost him more than half his winter fuel allowance ......ooops. its set for 9/10 degrees

Oh Raquel...if only.....As far as Ray is concerned, if you cant eat it, its not worth growing.........I keep telling him he's a heathen Lol.............

don't be too hard on Ray...Milky... he's just being practical..but You will bring him around to see your point of view...You have a bougainvillea blooming! What I wouldn't give to have a shorter milder winter and a heated greenhouse! : - } I think I might grow more veggies in my next garden...being pensioners, we might have no choice!!!

Ha I become one myself this year and thats why we bought a spare freezer .....The only veg we have bought since last season is Potatoes and tasteless tomatoes.........................

Ah...well, there's always room for a pot in the greenhouse for tomatoes!! They love the heat but you would have no trouble if you kept them in your greenhouse....try to find seeds for sweet million...it is a vining cherry tomato...they are sweet, squirty (so don't look your love in the eye when you bite into one!) and very tasty...not to mention easy to store and you will have TONS.... great with sandwiches or halved in a salad! I will have a look over here to see if I can find a pkg...part of our trade maybe??

I have just started several varieties off, Gardeners delight, which are cherry, Moneymaker, and Tamina which are normal size ,Brandywine, which are beef tomatoes and Costello Marzano, which are plum and purely to make my pasta sauce up and freeze ready for use in portion size plastic tubs. I also freeze the surplus Toms, skinned and cut in half for winter casseroles.....saves buying a can of them..I haven't tried sweet millions .....maybe one to try next year....especially if they are squirty...that could be fun.............

Has it been out all through the snowy weather.. If it has it may not survive. All you can do now is watch and wait ..If you see any signs of growth, then start to water and feed it .............
