Delonix - I was told you can just put the cuttings into water and they will strike. Do you know if this is true? I would really like to have a few of these in the garden.

Yes, this is true. My grandmother always had the large green variety to wrap a Hawaiian food called "Lau Lau". She would just cut large 4 foot + cuttings and put them in the ground and they would grow...So they grow from cutting easily also.
