Thanks Delonix, I didn't know they need semishade, which explains why it hasn't grown much lately. I will try placing it in the shade now and hope it grows better :-)

Panther:
They will do well in hot humid weather in almost full Sun.
They could never be grown well in full Sun here in San Diego...because our
Winter HOT Santa Ana Winds will burn them.

This is Xanthosoma atrovirens 'variegata' . I occasionally see them grown around here. They need to be in semi-shade or the white parts of the leaves will burn. It's a beautiful plant!
