It,s a beauty , is there size restricted by the size of the pond Eileen , or do you have to make the pond bigger as they grow , ? .

I remember what it was like having a burgeoning fish population, now that I come to think of it, Irish, he was probably very relieved to give them to a good home! Still a wonderful present....do you have somewhere you can pass them onto if they become too large for your pond??

We have Koi too. They've grown quite big now, we've had them for about 4 years now. The love to destroy the water lily but they get on well with the other fish in the pond. They spawned last year but luckily the other fish ate the eggs so we don't have an overcrowded pond. We've got them in with goldfish, shebunkins and golden orf. A happy fish family. Hubby Tim built a new pond last year and we have goldfish and shebunkins in the new one. I've just put in some new plants this weekend. The 2 water lilies we put in the new pond last year did so well and there's sign of new growth on them already this year.

I have a dwarf nymphaea that I have successfully overwintered indoors in an aq. for the last 4 yrs. take a look at my pond pics...the blossoms are small but gorgeous and they flower profusely... see if you can find a nymphaea cerulea...I would love to have one of those!

We bought 5 pond plants at the end of season sale in B & Q last year and these were the plants I put in the pond at the weekend. They've been kept in a cool, drk place for months but now's the time to put them in. They were reduced to £1 each from £5 each - another bargain of the century! Hope they sprout.....
