I do seem to have mostly double ones!

Thanks - I'm pleased that all my doubles have flowered well. There's one plant that I put in nearly 4 years ago - it still hasn't flowered - that's a single, though. I may remove it and try it elsewhere to give it the shock treatment! lol.

They are usually called Helleborus x hybridus 'Double Pink' or Harvingtons's Hybrid 'Double Purple' or Hillier's hybrid etc or something similar. My friend has one called H x hybridus 'White Queen' so obviously some do have names.
Sorry not to be very helpful - the last two I bought were both Hillier hybrids.

What a beauty. I just wish they didn't all live so close to the ground and turn their faces to the mud. I know planting them on top of a retaining wall is one solution, but alas, I no longer have a retaining wall.

I actually lay on the ground to take a photo of one... for another member. LOL. I don't normally!
I just lift each flower head to take a look. It does seem a shame that most of them hang their beautiful heads down, but there are new cultivars being developed that do stand up a bit more. :-)
