Took a bit of shovelling, picking, and even just pushing water but I finally got the water to drain away from my house where it can go in the driveway and out into a drain in the street.

Thanks, Arlene..While I still have water coming in downstairs (practically impossible when your house is submerged in water) I figure that by rerouting such a large amount of water from the house couldn't hurt..All the snow I dug off the top of the trench I used to make a dam for the runoff coming towards the house..

The picking was the worse...Had to loosen ice at the bottom, which meant I tore up my lawn in the process, and flicked muddy water and ice all over me!

Well done.
That looks hard work.

Congratulations on your efforts. You really have done extremely well. Do you get flooded every year or is this year worse than normal? I hope the water hasn't done too much damage to your home.

Prone to flooding, but not this bad!
The snow melted extremely quickly, due to 11 degree temps.
