Snails??? My granny used to throw them opposite the road..and I'll hear a crashing sound thereafter ...I used to feel bad when I stepped on them by accident...

Exterminate.........................
14 Mar, 2009
Autumn,
of course the slug was exterminated with the help of salt :p...but I felt a little bit like a murderer....I think the slug came fr the pot of hanging petunia..I found hundreds of eggs inside that pot..you better check your potted plants ..didn't expect the slugs to lay eggs in a hanging pot in the nursery..better play safe fr now on..your garden harder to spot them..mine quite easy..

JJ
Did the slug cause much damage to your purple petunias ?
After the rain, nas or me will pour cheap salt into a bag or yoghurt tub and use disposable chopsticks or disposable spoon to pick snails / slugs. We also scatter crushed egg shells on the soil to minimise snails / slugs. Actually, here lesser snails / slugs compared to the previous place.

Not the slug but the rain. I threw the pot of soil away..too many eggs..

That's a wise move.

Escargo for tea perhaps :-)) Do you see the giant snails? I loved those, they used to congregate under a Papaya tree in my friends garden in one of those houses in Warwick Road, we used to line them up and try to race them, obviously a great deal of patience was needed!!
