The Allotment

The Allotment

This is the raised bed we call the allotment. My hubby Tim built it last year, originally we had it on the patio, just outside the conservatory, we have now moved it onto the deck for more sunshine. Although last year it did extremely well, with salad crops and peas doing really well. Today we have filled it with fresh compost and planted some radish, lettuce, carrots and spring onions. The string trick we used last year prevented our 3 cats Tom, Jerry and Butch from using is as a WC, it worked extremely well, I have also laid some garden canes across the top for extra security. Today we have had a heat wave - the sun was lovely and warm and felt really good to be outside in the garden.

this is very clever - I now know who made your herb garden!! good for Tim. Do you put the lettice seeds straight into the ground? maybe that is what I should have done - see my other comment. I might put the seedlings out today and see what happens. Bye the way how deep is this plot - I may copy the idea (if I can find a Tim that is!!!)
