Cherry Rose

Well, thats not a cherry neither a rose, we don't know what kind of plant is this. My friend's parents bought this place with some plants in the garden. Does anybody have a clue?

It does look like a Prunus / ornamental cherry. There are about 200 species, ranging from white flowers through to different shades of pink. Also single flowers & like yours, double. It's beautiful. PamD
