Lots of these tiny little yellow butterflies flying around ever since the rain stopped. We haven't seen them in these numbers for almost a decade.

Chloris - that's probably got quite a bit to do with the decrease in the numbers of butterflies. Around here, while we have the habitat, we haven't had sufficient water to enable their preferred plants to grow - this year however we've got abundant growth everywhere so it's fabulous to see them in such hordes.

How lovely to have these insects back in such numbers. Every summer I hope to see large quantities of butterflies but it never happens. Perhaps the habitats just aren't there anymore to support their numbers?
