More of the sun jewels doing well in the garden since the rain has stopped.

We use the term 'sun jewels' over here far more than the term 'portulacas' and it just seems to sum up exactly what they are. Yes I have seen yours in your photos.

I've never heard them called 'Sun Jewels' before. I like it! They are a common ground cover here...they are pretty long-lived and reseed easily...and are drought tolerant to boot.

Exactly why I like them so much in my garden here Delonix - we've always called them sun jewels downunder, maybe because they add precious colour in our long dry hot months.
