No, it's Cistus purpureus and is a single shrub. They like it quite hot and dry, so I would think you could grow this in Arizona? There is a white-flowered form too, but I prefer this one :-)

Yes - this is mum to your little Cistus :-) Actually, I've dug this one out (I hated doing it, especially seeing this picture of how lovely it was last summer) but the fence behind had to be renewed and the shrub got pushed forward and no amount of pruning seemed to be convincing it to grow back towards the new fence rather than out across the narrow path. SO, reluctantly, I've removed this one and replaced it with one of the cuttings I took from it - about the same size as the one I've sent to you - but further back towards the fence and along a bit. This one I'd say was about 4ft tall before I murdered it! Yours should grow fairly quickly. They like plenty of sun and well drained soil. They are gorgeous things....I'm missing this one already!
