they are such pretty plants especially during spring and Autumn. i have 5 different ones now, i did have a sixth but lost it this year.

Ohhh. Don't remind me! My Acer palmatum died in the frost. I replaced it yeaterday with an Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood'.

thanks it is lovely this one A. plamatum 'Sango-kaku'. has pale lime leaves during the summer, which are yellow/orange in new growth and golden yellow during autumn. i also have 'Bloodgood' another beauty, - can't beat if for autumn reds.

I'm surprised to find my little acer is just coming to life.
I'd forgotten it, and left it in a very cold place in a pot !

I think it does depend on variety, the other 4 i have are all at bud stage too, as i remember this was first out last year too.
