Planted some bulbs last year and they literally disappeared !
When the didn't emerge from underground i moved thee soil and there was nothing there !!!
Where did they go ???? :(

mice eat them and they are susceptible to rotting. if you plant more sit them on an inch layer of sand/grit to aid drainage. Thats what i do with all fritillaries and alliums.

The drainage in that area is very very good, the soil's very thin and poor.
I suspect then that something ate them because there's very little chance they rotted.
