Portable sawmill

Another use for our garden space: sawing up the hardwood firewood logs that were too good for firewood. The planks and lumber will be used for furniture making, Patrick's raison d'ĂȘtre. Kurt comes every year or so to mill the logs. You can see the logs that have been sawn up for firewood on the left. They now need splitting. We have a wood furnace, which heats the entire house. The veggie plot is in the background.

So do I, NN - this is a wood furnace, in the basement, so we can't exactly sit in front of it and enjoy! But it's a workhorse, gets fed morning and evening in winter, although with the sunshine lately we haven't had to light it in over a week. We have large windows facing east, south and west to take advantage of the passive solar energy.

Sounds good too, anything but oil.
Haven't heard of one of those furnaces in a looong time....Must be nice!
