Thank you for the kind words. These are quite easy to grow as an indoor plant, needing watering and feeding in early Spring - Summer and keeping a little drier in the Winter. They need an open soil mix with added small bark and perlite as in their natural habitat they grow in leaf litter.

OH! thanks so much for the information. I am currently waiting for my clivia seed to arrive (first attemp with clivia) and all information I find is very helpful.

Hello Kmccue07, Re Clivia seeds. When your seeds arrive the best way to grow them is in a shallow dish or pot. Get some cactus compost from B & Q and lay the seeds on the surface of the compost, pressing gently with the rounded side uppermost. Do not bury them. I usually cover the pot with cling film after watering, keep damp but not too wet. Place them in a warm place to germinate - I keep mine on the hot bed in the greenhouse. You will find that the root will push the seed up but dont worry just pop it back in and remove the cling film once you have a leaf.
Pot on only when you have 2 leaves. Good luck ! botanicalady
