Arlene, it is sooo cold but spring has started about 2 weeks early for us, so we can't complain. Day before yesterday was 16 C, but has dipped to 1 overnight, and frost next few nights. Now that spring has begun I can see what damage lack of snow over winter has done to my garden-a lot of new plants I put down in the fall were pushed above ground by frost without the snow to hold them in place!
I guess everything happends for a reason~including the much dreaded snow......

I stacked straw around anything tender to shelter them in that case Newfie. We had -50 before the snow really deepened so I'll tell you how well it worked.
