Are the pebbles onto soil, or is there membrane under them ?

TT, no, i haven't used a membrane, just pebbles on soil. the only place i've used an anti-weed membrane is in the front garden both in the bed (to prevent weeds and cats digging) and under the path chippings (to prevent weeds).i've used these pebbles in all my pots and as a border in the beds. they look great, i'm really pleased with them.
