I dont use any slug poision I just leave it up to the frogs from the wildlife pond we built and the hedgehogs. Usually they fair pretty well as I have about 16 in the ground and several in pots.

My son took a time lapse photo of the hosta near my front door, we call the hosta 'The Thug'. I must try and find a may to upload it to the Internet, but I fear it is too large a file. I don't use slug poison either, just a torch and a rubber glove!

That would be good to see. I managed to do 3 small videos and load them on to you tube and embed them on here.
They are in my blogs titled garden tour. Have a look they were done last summer.

This hostas looks great, I love them when there all fresh and unspoiled by the slugs. I've got three in my garden and only one seems to get nibbled, so I think there are some that they don't like so much. Susie2shoes - would be good to see the time lapse - you could compress the images to make them easier to upload.

I wish you luck with your hostas this year. Last summer mine were eaten to death by slugs and snails.
