Traditional Fish Trap

I know this has nothing to do with gardening, but this is a traditional fish trap woven out of strips of green mangrove roots.

Wouldnt use it for catching fish but think it would make a great planter can just imagine a climber entwining its way through it..

Irish, any small edible fish is caught when they swim into the mid-funnel like part of the trap, once they swim in they can't make their way out again.
BB..you're giving me ideas already...lol, I've also seen this being used as a lampshade in some homes, quite pretty too I must say.

Thanks Ff, the guy who wove this is hitting his 80's and he's one of the only few people who knows of this traditional art of weaving these fish traps.
