I have no idea where it came from - must have got transplanted along with the grape hyacinths from someone else's garden. They are pretty, aren't they? They are obviously bulbs.

They look very similar to Chionodoxa. Perhaps someone can either confirm or put me right.

I think you're right, Toto - you have some, don't you? Thanks so much. Nancym also posted a photo of some that look just like mine: http://www.growsonyou.com/photo/slideshow/13133-glory-of-the-snow/plant/Chionodoxa_luciliae

They hang their heads over when they're in the sun.

Yes Elke, I do have some and they brighten the garden early in the spring.

I just found some photos posted of Scilla siberica (Siberian squill). It looks very similar. How can I tell which is which?

I've only a very simple brain cell. Please don't ask complicated questions.

Don't worry about overtaxing your brain, Toto - it obviously needs a rest after gardening all day. Owdboggy solved it for me - I put it on the gardening questions page. The result is I do have chionodoxa luciliae after all - should have believed you in the first place.

Never believe me Elke. I don't know what day it is let alone anything else.

Dear Elke, I have a photo of the scilla siberica. It looks really the same. There are other scillas, which look a little different. They all are of the same Family like the muscaris, thas means: little hyacinths.
