This was taken in summer 2008, so not very recent.

Thank you for your kind comments. The patio is still a mess, I left it out of the photo at the time, lol.
It looks a bit different at the moment. The pond has been taken over by those two leafed green menaces which I hope to eventually get rid of, so there is less water showing now than when the picture was taken.
The hosta in the main pond is "Patriot" and I have left it in the pond as an experiment this last winter. It is growing its leaves this spring but much slower than the hosta I have at the side of the pond on land ( not in this picture). If I can leave it in the water all year round it will help avoid the huge holes that appear in the leaves due to the very energetic slug and snail population that I have.
Once I have found the lead that connects the camera to the computer I will try and put a more recent picture up, lol.
Jacque, I have not done a very good job at the edges as the turf was plonked straight on top of the liner. While the grass soaks up water from the pond it doesn't get enough nutrients or space for root development, which has meant I've had to replace the turf every year. It works to hide the liner quite well though as long as I do this. As it is such a little plot it is manageable to returf the edges but ideally I need to fiddle around with the edge and provide a pocket allowing some depth of soil over the liner to put the turf onto. I'm not very good at maintaining grass or lawn in good health, even when not on top of a liner, so I'm hoping to do better this year with the rest of the grass!
This photo was taken outside the back door ( the kitchen) and it covers the majority of the garden apart from the patio, the back garden is little ,and often a bit scruffy, but I love having the water so close and I'm lucky to have my own small patch of ground.
