They are quite lovely - as I've mentioned before I rather like the slender palms. As for the poor old plumerias - there were two of them and they were looking a bit sad as a result of the water restrictions.

That's sounds unusual..most Plumeria trees here receive no water at all in the Summer...and bloom very well and look very healthy. They are extremely drought tolerant tres...even the Singapore Plumeria. I do know the Singapore Plumeria would prefer to have more water than Plumeria rubra though.
I love tall old Queen Palms...many people think they are just too common though.

The plumeria were not looking as good as I had expected - I suppose I was comparing them to the ones that are in my youngest son's garden down in Brisbane. I also think that the Queen palm is a bit under-rated.

Yes, in a personal garden one give Plumeria all that tender loving care they need.
I think Queens Palms are under-rated here...however, they are still so very commonly planted in the landscape and as street trees. In San Diego, CA. Queen palms (street trees) are trimmed twice a year -- once in Spring and in Fall.

Beautiful Queen Palms! I see a very nice Plumeria obtusa 'Singapore' there also.
