Marguerite:

I thought they might be also...they are growing so upright...in San Diego they grow wider than so upright.

They could be Ficus benjamina 'Exotica?'

They are absolutely beautiful trees.

Delonix & Marguerite - the leaflet just said these were Ficus Benjamina planted in the late 19th century. At the end of this walk was a Ficus Religiosa which I didn't get a photo of - batteries in my camera went dead. That was an amazing tree.

Bernieh:

There's a variety of Ficus benjamina variety called 'Exotica' which tends to grow more upright than wide...many times they are just labeled Ficus bejamina.

Ficus religiosa is an incredible tree. I know of some very large trees that were planted by a famous horticulturist, Kate Sessions. She planted many of the unsusual trees of its time in Balboa Park and throughout San Diego around 1900 or so.

Thanks Delonix - they certainly are quite an upright ficus.

Yes, they are...I would love to see some F. benjamina growing upright like these trees here.
