yes Sanbaz, our conservatory is south facing so it has its advantages and disadvantages. The Toms will be ready to transplant into our greenhouse once the flower buds start to appear, I have regular and Beef toms (I love Beef toms and havent been that successful with them so far, this is my 3rd year for trying different varieties to see which one works, when I find it, will stick to it, just like Alicantes are my favourite regular, they work for me.

They are looking fantastic. I had to move mine out to my "greenhouse" to slow them down. They were going mad in the basement. Out in the cool weather they have been brought up short. LOL

yes I will be planting my Toms out in the greenhouse within next couple of weeks, the Chillies will stay in their big pots on the staging. Im hoping the beef toms work, I havent succeeded with any Beefs yet, then again I didnt have a greenhouse before. Fingers crossed :-)

I grow Beefsteaks every year and usually have a great crop. Our summers are very hot which helps with these longer season toms. The deer like them too.!! They usually come and snack on them at least once a summer.

Plant 'em deep....right up to the first leaves. Add bone meal and epsom salts to the soil..... :o)

Thanks Gilli I will give that a go, I have my own home made compost too so they will be well fed :-)

I'm sure they will come along beautifully. I just put my Toms in yesterday. Already the cold has touched the leaves. I'm going to put milk jugs over top of them tonight for a bit of protection.

Milk jugs? lol Ive got a funny picture going on in my head, (I guess the meaning of what a milk jug is to you and us brits is something completely different :-) Id like to see a photo of your toms with the milk jugs .....cuppa tea anyone?

I'll try to take one tomorrow NFG. Our milk jugs are a slightly opaque whitish plastic. I cut the bottoms off and it's like a little greenhouse.
