Roma Street Parklands - Brisbane - Spectacle Garden Area

Yes I totally agree Delonix - I don't know how they've managed to keep this fabulous area of the parklands so beautiful under the very tight water restrictions. I have a feeling that they must use their own water source.

If they don't use gray (reclaimed water)...then they must have well water.

It is also so very well manicured!

It's a great spot - only opened in 2001. Before that, this was the site for railway yards! This was my first visit and I was blown away! There is such a variety of plants and areas within this parkland - it's a very popular place now.

Shapla - it is a definite must-see place. I never visited this beautiful parkland when I lived in Brisbane many years ago, but my sons are living there now and I made the effort to see it - I've been back 4 times since!!!

Delonix - it is amazing to think this area was covered with railway sheds and tracks. This was a huge railway goods yard adjacent to the massive Roma Street railway terminal (which is still there) - and when it fell into disuse the council decided to make it parkland. I did put lots of photos of the various flowers into a blog - but still had so many photos left.
