whats a saw fly DD, what do they look like i have'nt had a problem with them i have this plant everywhere

They eat all the leaves over night, thats why I stopped growing it.

is there no sray or anything you can use, as it is such a lovely plant.

Yes there is for the gooseberry saw fly....but not sure its the same one that eats sols seal though.

well have been growing them now for 3 years and touch wood not had this problem, but then i do treat my plants with a multi pupose bug killer mainly for greenfly, and lily beetle that i do get problems with - maybe this also does sawfly which is why i don't get the problem?
