Nova Scotia's provincial flower. They have a very fresh sweet scent that travels for quite a distance. They are very short plants, and grow mostly in ditches and at the bottom of hedges.

Very nice Elke but why does a nice looking plant like that want to hide at the bottom of a ditch?

I know, Toto - it does seem a shame. They are quite difficult to find too, as they stand about 4 inches or 10 cm at most off the ground, and the flowers hide under the leaves. But what a treat when you do!

Perhaps you will just have to learn to smell them out.

Perhaps I'll put my sqizzle friend onto it. He's been digging around in the basil seedlings, probably thinks he buried something in there before winter. So perhaps this will distract him for a while.
