Lovely - amazing what beauty is packed into that tight little bud! Can't wait for ours - the shoots are now about 8" (20 cm) above the ground and starting to show leaves. I'll enjoy yours in the meantime, Mookins.

Congtrats on your rescued peony. Great way to start and build. I keep adding every year and I have a total of five. They all have their own cages.
At the end of the season I cut them back to the ground. Each year they grow in height and get bushier. You may get only a few flowers the first 2 years but it's the third year they take off. Great cutting flowers, smell great but fall apart in 2 days.
