no not expensive i think this one was about £15-20 if i remeber correctly, it approx 5ft tall. i looked at quite a few, and they really do range, i did want something a bit more rustic for this area, but a lot of the ones i liked were far too expensive, some i looked at were well over £100 - this one was from homebase or b&q can't remeber which, but making them is just as effective.....you can't see it in this pic, but just to the left of this one stands another sort of obelisk that i made from left over willow canes when i made the willow teepee. that is just as effecitve. i have sweetpeas on the willow one with a clematis, and on this one i have sweet pea and morning glory should be nice once they get going. the thing is they are both so different in style not too keen on the two together as they are at the moment, but as San has said on a previous pic, i do have the different rooms thing going on so i may well move one of them next year.

Thanks for this info Majeekahead. It looks so good sitting on the pot, really effective. Your willow ones must be pretty too - how did you learn to make the willow obelisk - I'm curious as I have lots of willow trees that we coppice each year and basically through the canes away.

You have worked hard on the garden and it shows.......

thanks DD, and Dawnsaunt, the willow one is not a proper one or anything just a few left over stems from the teepee i made for my daughter, i just tied them together with some garden twine...the willow teepee however, was another story,,,,check out the blog i did on this if you have lots of willow stems to make use of this is a really fun and effective progect and not as hard to do as you would expect.
