This is the trunk on the Brazilian Coral Tree. This tree has stronger branches than many of the other species of Coral trees that grow here. Photo taken today.

Milky:
This is the largest Brazilian Coral tree I've ever seen in California...not to say that there's not a larger one out there.

Are they fast growers? or is this an aged specimen? wonder how old this tree might be?

Lori:
Almost all Erythrina species are fast to extremely fast growers...this one is not quite as fast as some other species. This is an old tree...just by the size of the trunk...I guessing possibly 50 years old. I may have to do some research to see how old this tree is -- you sparked my interest.
