The Odd Couple

I posted this photo before around this time last year. These two birds came regularly to the feeder last summer and through the winter and are still coming. You never see one without the other.

They are so gorgeous Mike , They are completely unknown to me so I don,t know if this is unusual or not , they are obviously very good friends if they have been coming for a year , they like your feeder it looks to be packed with seeds ... :o)

its nice to know that your garden birds have survived the winter. we dont have anything as exotic as this but we do have very tame robins that keep me company when Im doing the spring tidy up

The one on the left is a Blue Jay and the one on the right is a woodpecker. I'm not sure what type of woodpecker it is. Both are very common here in Northern New England USA Your robins in the UK are very beautiful. Ours are larger and they are dark gray with orange chests.

Thanks Grammazoo and Stevebuk... Love having the birds in the garden. I'm sure that you've noticed in my photos that I have a lot of birdhouses around.

do you make the birdhouses mike, or are they shop bought..

I made the large white one on the white poll and made the large blue one from an old dollhouse. The rest were bought.
