This beautiful yellow/golden African Tulip tree is located in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. Photo taken August 2008.
Three trees are located in this area all next to each other.

This one is not very common here - I've only ever seen it once and that was in a park.

There's quite a few large trees around now. I think it started becoming available about 15 years ago or so...and I still don't know where it originated. It is a grafted tree that's all I know about this tree.
It is commonly available for sale now ...it doesn't seem to grow quite as tall as the orange/red African tulip tree...so it's good for a smaller garden.
