Garden visitor - Sacred Kingfisher

Yes, it is beautiful! I love places with a lots of exotic birds. We have parrots here, however, they are non-native birds.

Amazing shot, I have tried and tried to get a shot of a Kingfisher when we were on holiday in Scotland but always managed to take a shot of an empty branch.

Bobg I was lucky to get this little fellow - but as you can see he was busy eating some sort of worm or caterpillar and perched there for a while.

What delonix said: the strong but soft contrast is so lovely!

Wish we got more kingfishers. The only time i've seen one like this was on holiday in Crete.

Lilymac - we do get to see a couple of species of kingfisher from the tiny little azure kingfisher to the rather large kookaburra.

A great shot Bernieh. I love birds as well as butterflies and insects.

Thanks Adoronron - we don't see this gorgeous variety very often. We get some fabulous birds, butterflies and insects here. I'm like you - I could never tire of seeing them.

They are that, Brumeri. There have been a few around here lately once again. Very hard to catch a good shot of them though.
