Shirley's (mominlaw) orchid cactus

The blooms is beautiful but the plant is a little strange...lol

Called a cactus, but looks more like a succulent to me. It looks better when it's a little bigger. Jeff's mom got this cutting last year, so it's a bit small still. When they get old they do tend to look a little beat up, unless grown in a nursery and protected from the elements. There grown for the flowers for sure. It's nice to see such a beautiful flower coming from this strange looking plant though.
