This is taken on the margins of a relatively large swamp...this is one of the deeper channels...the plant in the water in the foreground seems to be a water vine of some kind... I've never seen anything like this before and I'm hoping someone here has. Anyone?

We were cutting and raking hay from the field on the opposite side of the road...I took a break with my camera when I saw the monarchs...I walked down the road to a little bridge across the main channel of the swale...asked others if they knew what it was...nobody seemed to even want to guess...This picture was taken in Muskoka..not far from my cousin's farm.(on the other side of the province from my home, some 500km.) It was in Late June...I never made it back to see if it bloomed. what struck me was that it was wending it's way through the water when those lovely tall grasses might have been easier to climb...going to google 'water vine' and see what I come up with.

Very strange Lori, I wonder what that is? Have you ever gone back to see if it bloomed?
