My neighbor's front yard...many are drought tolerant plants, such as the Bougainvillea. Photo taken May 27, 2009.

Lori:
The evergreen tree in the background is a Hollywood Juniper. Not my favorite plant...they attract thousands
of spiders and webs.

I have always thought of juniper as a shrub or a very slow, and low growing plant! That tree must be ancient! Do you perchance know why the spiders like it so much? Does this juniper have the blue berries, or is it the extremely prickly type? (Don't you love my scientific descriptions?...sorry!)

Lori:
Juniperus chinensis - Hollywood Juniper grows fast and tall here...usually topping out about 18 feet/ 5.5 meters. I don't know why spiders like them so much, however, you almost never see one without hundreds of spider
webs.
This juniper is prickly...another reason I don't like them.
Yes, I do love your scienfic description! : > )
