Here she is ..the Indians named her Tahoma...it is not often that we can see her this clearly in the hotter weather...

Yes Mam..that is a hot volcano too...has steam vents here and there...they keep expecting it to act up one day in the not too distant future.

Yikes! Didn't you ever watch the file 'Volcano'! lol
6 Jun, 2009
LOL..Volcano was based on the eruption of Mt. St. Helens..I lived 15 miles southwest of her when she blew..

We were very lucky...the Mt. blew to the east or we would have been buried and very quickly too...

We probably got almost as much ash from St Helens on the east side of the state as you did where you were then.

I think you got more than us..we only got it a few times after, when it came down in the rain ..not like you did in the first biggest eruption.

Most of this side of the state got several inches, you can still see it along the roads over here.

Several inches of ash! :-0 .........that's something to tell the grandchildren about... Does the ash make the soil particularly good Weeds?

Would love to have the sweetner work...going on here.

What's that, Cat?

The ash from the volcano makes the soil more alkaline..we have very acid soil here..I grew up with alkaline soil ...took me a while to get used to amending the soil here to be able to grow things that I was used to growing in southern Washington like strawberries etc.I could grow huge lucious strawberries there without adding anything to the soil...here, unless you amend the soil the plants are stunted and do not produce at all...
