Crabapple blooms.

Crabapple blooms.

The blooms were beautiful, but last year produced less apples than ever. I hope it's not on it's way out...

Gorgeous. Do you make crab apple jelly from the fruits?

Thanks guys.
No, Toto, I don't..I have had people tell me about crab apple butter as well, but I'm not really sure if I have ever eaten crab apple anything.

About time you did. It's lovely.

Last year we had pretty bad rain and wind storms, NN, they wrecked a lot of the blossom before the bees could do their job. Hope you have better luck this year. I did manage to make pots and pots of jelly though, before the deer got all the windfalls.

Well done Elke.

I see I will have to get some of that jelly to try!

You have to make it Newfie. With your baking skills it shouldn't be difficult for you.

I'll post my recipe in a blog for you, NN, and knowing you'll want some with clotted cream, Toto, for you too.

That would be great, Elke. Will have to make an extra effort to keep Chummy away from the crabapples this year, she is always running off with one when they fall.
Toto, thanks for the comment but I'm afraid my baking is hit and miss. But I'm always willing to try-try-again until I get it right. :)
