New England Asters should not be flowering now in your area, Gram. Are you sure it is not an Erigeron?

They flower from now to late autumn, so I always thought they were the New England ones, but after checking out both, I have to agree with you - Erigeron annuus (Annual Fleabane) is the exact match to this little wildflower that I imported into the yard. Thanks Vincent - I'll update my records now.

No problem, glad to help (it's nice to have at least one skill!)
