Quaking aspen

They remind me of my Silver Birch trees, I love it when the leaves tremble...:o)

I love silver birch too. They are beautiful in the wind before a storm. Are they invasive? I haven't tried them here because we have a borer that damages a lot of them. Quaking Asps are invasive.

I love the sound the quaking aspen make...they are so pretty in the wind.....I have a weeping buckskin birch that I just adore...especially when the wind blows...

Yes, before a storm when the wind comes up the leaves turn over and show their silvery backsides and they whisper.

Thank you. We had a beautiful evening here. We went to the neighbors for strawberry shortcake and pinochle. Their backyard patio looks down into the woods, very pretty. They had an opportunistic wild turkey eating the leftovers from their bird feeders. It was relaxing.

That sounds so pleasant..Elise..Heather's youngest is over your way visiting her dad right now..Cessna did not go..strawberry short cake and pinochle..how nice...I don't even know how to play that..LOL..but it sounds good.

How old is Elise now? I still think of her as a baby. She must be about 10 or 12? And Cessna must be 16 or 17? Does their dad still have a store over here?

He still has a store but in a different place again now...Elise is 10 and Cessna is 18...

Well, about the silver Birches Weeds, no I don't think so, I suppose it depends how tall you let them grow...the one we have will have to be trimmed this Autumn as the gardens only small, I love the white bark in the Winter too. Hows your Abbeytail doing. Old Rolymo has a new home now with a long field to roam in, he started frightening Pops here....he wanders over now and again to catch-up.....:o)

Cat, It only takes about two "adult weeks" for them to grow up, Evyn is almost sixteen and 6'1".

Janey, Yes, I prefer the bright white of the birch bark, too, winter and summer, but I hate the thought of spending the time and effort growing one and losing it to borers.

Pops? Is that a bird or another cat? I'm glad Roly is enjoying life.

Abby is quite the young maiden now, treats everybody with distain, unless it's her idea to favor you by allowing you to rub her underside. She likes Magoo (see blog) but on her own terms. Magoo thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread.
