He/she was a 1 inch long wisp clinging to the door of my shed last year. Having survived the winter he/she shamelessly devoured all the flowers on my Crinodendron and is now working steadily through the Lonicera nitida. Hasn't he/she grown?

No, Milky, it's Lonicera nitida, or Box honeysuckle.
Stick insects are frequently found in the wild in this part of Cornwall, Jaque. I think it's something to do with the climate and being so close to the Gulf Stream.

Awww! Jaque. Don't you love the way they wave their skinny little legs ever so slowly, and tap the back of your hand with those long feelers?

I didn't either Irish. Cornwall does seem to have it's own climate, bit like the Isle of Wight. They do tend to have tropical plants growing there quite successfully. I looked after someone' s stick insect once, they don't seem to be very exciting or do a lot.
