That is a wonderful shot Rbtp...such a handsome bird.....I remember when we were children we had a flock of them in our apple tree one very cold Winter...they were coming over from Russia.........

Thanks Janey, they are so pretty. This is the first year I have had them. Usually they move through, in large flocks in the spring, but never have stayed. My trees are loaded with fruit this year so that may be why they are still here. The tree this one is in is outside my kitchen door and I could practically touch him. They aren't shy at all, which makes it easy to get these wonderful shots.
