yep its Gardener's Gaiters - Phalaris arundinacea. and its a thug! so i would give it a bigger pot if i were you as it dose'nt like to dry out too much, but what ever you do don't plant it in the ground! and also i would remove any damaged leaves looks like a few got damaged on way to you, it is pretty robust so will grow back really easy - i found a tiny sprig of this last summer just growing out of the side of an overcrouded Agave, and i just stuck it in the garden, well after a couple of months it was over 18" tall and spread about 2 1/2 ft! so i dug it up and put it in a large pot, it's just sooooo pretty when it gets going and apparently it flowers too - mine did'nt flower last year, but then it was late on in the season that i found it. i have some pic's of the mother plant in my garden, feel free to have a look! AX
sorry Jac i don't know the name of the other one! but what i will do tomorrow is post a blog and see if anyone else does, i have loads of it i have been saving in a bucket for the edge of my new front garden bed, but i have'nt a clue what it is called.
