Big Poll's resting place

This is Big Poll and Lucky's resting place. Terra suggested a Pieris Forest Flame as Poll came from the jungles of Amazon originally, I thought that was a lovely idea. Life goes on now, things to do in the garden when it stops raining, although it is much needed.

Lovely resting place for Big Poll.
I'm pleased the Pieris Forest Flame has worked out well. xxx

It will look good there, it is a darkish little corner and it wasn't doing well where it was, too hot I think, in full sun. When it gets if flowers and red it will look good against the dark boards I am sure. xxx

The pieris might benefit from new ericaceous compost in the top of the pot.
I pruned my Pieris Forest Flame recently and it is full of red shoots....looking stunning.. I'm sure yours will look wonderful against the boards behind. :o)

I'll get some, do you think I should prune this one, it is getting very leggy with nothing to show at the moment. I nearly pruned it yesterday but wasn't too sure :o)

I pruned my Pieris Forest Flame a few weeks ago and am amazed at the amount of new red growth. Yes, I suggest you prune your plant here and there to improve the shape.
Put in more ericaceous compost ~ maybe replace a bit at the top ~ and water with rain water, not tap water.
You could try pushing the pieris cuttings into some more of the ericaceous compost in a separate pot. I've done this in the past. Sometimes you're lucky and new baby pieris plants grow :o)

What a lovely tribute and a lasting one too, I have just recieved my dog Casper's ashes and I have a special plant too that I have planted in a corner, and can now add the ashes.

Thanks Irish and Bob, I am so sorry to hear that you lost Casper Bob, how lovely to put his ashes in a special corner, it is nice to make little memory places for them isn't it?

Thanks San, the forest flame was Terra's idea, Poll came from the Amazon forests originally, now she is back flying there like a flame in spirit.
